Agile Project Management – Waterfall methodology

Waterfall methodology. The traditional methodology, “Waterfall” Project Management proved unable to cope with inevitable changes in software projects, and this ability is possessed by the revolutionary Agile Project Management, which was inspired from Agile ‘Manifesto”.In spite of the fact that Agile Project Management was not born from waterfall, but in contrary, is a reaction to it, this brilliant method couldn’t have existed without the traditional one.

The Scrum method and extreme programming are two gorgeous, increasingly popular methodologies, software methods which derive from Agile.Agile methodology. Agile is a project management used in software development, which helps teams face theunpredictability of building software through incremental, iterative work, named sprints.

The idea came from Dr.Winston Royce, whose presentation asserted that a project could be developed on an assembly line, in which each piece is added in sequential phases. Every step of the project must be taken before the first phase begins, and that means that developers first gather all of a project’s requirements and then complete all of its details.

Agile Project management Methodology

The agile project managementand development methodology is the most efficient method because it helps the companies construct the right product. In conclusion, Agile attempts to stipulate the opportunities to assess the direction of a project throughout the developing lifecycle. Scrum methodology.

The scrum methodology is used because it is flexible and adaptable to fit any costumer and business needs, any personalities, powers, ambitions and all kinds of requirements of any development team. Each member of the team is encouraged to do his best and all of them pull together to accomplish one unique common goal.

Scrum is very loosely definable because it is a very flexible working methodology and the goals are changing constantly. A team works on some stories, and they work on them in set time increments, called sprints, led by a Scrum Master, who is responsible for the writing stories and who has to establish the priorities and cheer the group, to ensure the best quality work.

He has to encourage them and to know how to help each member of the group to finish his work in time and to become better and better over time. He also has to alleviate stress in the workplace, teaching the team how to take ownership and responsibility for their accomplishments and shortcomings.

Agile Project Management – State Of Agile

State of Agile. State of Agile is a well known blog, from where I’ve extracted a relevant passage which considers the sparkling path on which speedy footsteps of the Agile Project Management are crossing over: “So how do I see Agile? I see it as one stepping stone (a particularly beautiful one), on a great journey towards a business world that is more caring, loving, respectful and altogether more joyous.

Agile will meld into the ideas of many other movements, and we’ll all move forward towards the greater goal, seeking similarities, and finding ways to collaborate, innovate and reconsider the way we work”. This opinion belongs to Tobias Mayer, but thousands of people share it.
